Privacy Policy

Welcome to our Privacy Policy (Policy). This Policy is important, so please take some time to read is carefully. In a nutshell, the Policy describes what information we collect and how we manage and use it.
  1. Introduction

    Thanks for choosing Findie. To supply you with the Findie Service (as defined in our Terms and Conditions) we need to collect information about you. The use, management and storage of this information are described in our Privacy Policy below. By using our Service you are entering into a legal agreement between you and us and consent to the use of your information. If you do not agree with this Policy, then please do not use the Service. We encourage you to refer to this Policy on an on-going basis so that you understand our current Privacy Policy.

  2. Types of Data we May Collect
    1. Registration and Settings Data

      When you register for the Service you provide us with a username of your choice and your email address so we can identify and contact you. From your settings with Findie, you may voluntarily add optional personal information into your account settings. This may include your name, profile photo, password, date of birth, gender, postal code, country, and the email address you used to register. We need your email address so that we can remember you and contact you if needed, but you can always remove or change your Personal Information from your Settings.

      If you connect to the Service using your Facebook, Twitter or Google+ credentials, you authorize us to collect your authentication information, such as your username, encrypted access credentials, and other information that may be available on or through your linked accounts, including your name, profile picture, address, location, e-mail address, date of birth, gender, friends, connections and networks and profile pictures.

    2. Login & Usage Data

      We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with our Service and thus automatically collect information including; (i) your interactions with the Service, including movies, playlists and other users, advertising and products which are being offered as well as third party applications; (ii) technical data such as IP addresses, browser type, referral information, page requests, page activities, and operating system; (iii) data on the geographic area such as location and language identifying information, transactional information and where you use your mobile device or computer (as indicated by an IP address). We do this in order to help us support our Service, localize your experience and manage digital rights.

      If you have connected your account to Facebook, Twitter or Google+, we may receive similar information related to your interactions with the Service on Facebook, Twitter or Google+.

    3. Cookie Data

      Findie uses non-personally identifiable means, which include "cookies" (small text file that resides on your computer, mobile phone, or other device), to collect, track and store site usage and trends, provide advertising, to improve and perform functions essential to the Service and enable us to recognize you when you return. We may also allow certain business partners to place or recognize cookies for those purposes.

  3. How we use the data we collect

    We may use the information we collect, including your personal information, to: (i) ensure technical functioning of the Service, develop new services and products, and analyze your use of the Service, including your interaction with our Service; (ii) communicate with you for Service-related purposes, including promotional e-mails or on-site messages and localized advertising; (iii) enable and promote the Service, such as notifications you may receive regarding other user activity as it relates to you; (iv) analyze and improve our Service, which may include tracking traffic, usage, and navigation patterns related to your activities on our Service; and (v) enforce this Privacy Policy as well as the Terms and Conditions.

    We may share the information we collect, including your personal information.

    1. Finding you and sharing within the Service

      The Findie Service is a social service, which offers many ways to find, enjoy and share content with others. Much of your Findie profile information (name and or username) as well as your playlists, and whom you follow is publicly available to others by default. We may use your public profile information to promote the Service and to help others find you and your Findie content, including through Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and other integrated services. Your activity on the Service, including but not limited to movies you watch or add to your playlist will automatically appear in the activity feed of people who follow you.

    2. Sharing with Facebook, Twitter and Google+

      If you connect to Findie using Facebook, Twitter, Google+, the default setting is generally that Findie will not automatically share any information with these services and will not post to your profiles. However, Findie enables you to actively share a particular item of content, on an individual basis with these services.

    3. Sharing with Third Party Applications

      We may share some information with Third Party Applications to personalize and enhance your experience, such as geographic information, your movie preferences, playlists, settings and technical data. If you actively choose to provide a Third Party Application provider with additional information, for example by visiting such application, you agree and understand that the Third Party Application provider's privacy policy governs its use of your information that we provide to it or that it collects from you.

    4. Other Sharing

      Lastly, we may share your personal data and information if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is: i) authorized by law or necessary to comply with a legal process or to deliver the product or service you require; ii) in response to legal claims; iii) required to protect and defend the rights, property or legitimate interests of Findie; iv) necessary to protect personal safety, property or other rights of Findie and its users or employees; or v) an integral part of a sale of all or part of our business. If we are legally compelled to disclose your information, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to notify you in advance of a disclosure unless we are legally prohibited from doing so.

  5. Your settings

    You can change or delete all personal information in your profile settings at any time. You can de-link your Findie account from Facebook, Twitter and Google+. You can manage who can see your public profile information, followers and whom you follow as well as your playlists by protecting your profile in your account settings. You can close your account at any time. When you close your account, we will delete. We may retain archived copies of your information for a commercially reasonable period after closing your account for legitimate business purposes. You can change your browser settings to limit or restrict the use of cookies. If you choose to block cookies, the Service may be impaired or not function properly.

  6. Links

    Our Service may contain links to other websites. If you choose to access third party links, you will be directed to that third party's website. We are unable to control nor can be held responsible for third parties' privacy practices, terms and conditions and content. These websites may place their own cookies or other files on your computer, solicit or collect personal information from you. Please read their respective privacy policies and terms and conditions to find out how they collect and process your personal information.

  7. Security

    Findie takes the privacy and security of your personal information and data very seriously and are committed to protecting our users' information. Your password to access our Services should never be shared with anybody and you should use a unique and strong password, limit access to your computer and browser and sign off after having used the Service. Whilst we have implemented reasonable data management policies and procedures that are designed to help safeguard your information, no security measures are completely secure, and we do not guarantee the security of user information at any time.

  8. Children

    For US based users, we comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA"). Our Website and Applications are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with Personal Information, we will delete such information from our files.
